Weather Finally Relents

The weather finally eased over the weekend and the Carnegie Challenge cup for 2010 finally got underway with both Preliminary and First Round matches taking place.

The National Conference League has had to take a back seat whilst both the Challenge Cup and the Ace Insurance BARLA Cup get their backlog of fixtures out of the way.

This weekend (30/31 January) it will be more of the same with outstanding Challenge Cup Round One fixtures taking precedence, and a hots of National Cup Round Two fixtures taking place.

The pick of the ties this weekend are:

Challenge Cup: Hull Dockers v Pilkington Recs. The St. Helens side have a proud history over the years and will be looking to upset the struggling NCL Premier League Dockers.

BARLA Cup: Oulton Raiders v Sharlston Rovers. Rovers are one of the better non-NCL clubs at the moment, and will likewise be trying to upset a struggling NCL Raiders.
