Siddal And Skirlaugh Win

2/23/2010

There were only 2 games in the National Conference League Premier Division over the weekend and both Siddal and Skirlaugh won to jump to second and third places respectively.

Siddal move into second place with an emphatic 6-try, 34-8 win over West Hull, and it seems that they have not been affected by the winters adverse weather conditions. they are now 3 points behind Leigh East and with a game in hand. The two teams are due to meet in the last game of the regular season on March 20th at Chevinedge.

Skirlaugh have played 20 games for their 27 points and third-place, and had to work hard to overcome a spirited Ince Rose Bridge by 38-32. They are a point ahead of Wath Brow Hornets in fifth position.

In the BARLA National Cup Leigh Miners beat Hull Dockers 33-12 after last weeks 8-28 victory over the same team. The two teams have to meet again in the league too, and so far Miners have won all 3 of their encounters this season.

The next few weeks will see most teams playing two games a week as they try to catch up due to the bad weather.
