Miners beat sorry Easts

5/13/2007

Leigh miners stormed to the Grand Final with a 59-8 victory over East Hull to book yet another fixture with Skirlaugh in the Grand final next weekend.

Still sore from their defeat to Skirlaugh last weekend Leigh Miners showed their determination to reach the Grand Final as early as the second minute when they scored the first of their ten tries and followed up with another 4 inside the first half hour.

Easts were shellshocked and were 30-8 in arrears by the break. The second half, however, didn't get much better as they failed to register another point, whilst Miners nearly doubled their first half tally.

Next Saturday (19th May) sees the NCL Grand Final between Leigh Miners and Skirlaugh at Spotland Stadium, Rochdale. kick off is 2.30pm.
