Miners and Easts Lose Out

4/30/2006

Leigh Miners Rangers and East Hull both suffered narrow defeats yesterday in the National Premier League Play-off games.

Leigh Miners Rangers were beaten at home to a very spirited St. Annes from Oldham. Miners will be extremely disappointed that they didn't progress further in the play-offs after starting as favourites to beat the team who finished sixth-placed in the regular season.

In the other knockout semi-final the result went true to the form book as Thornhill Trojans overcame East Hull - but it was by the most narrow of margins - 33-32.

Trojans and St. Annes now meet in the final Eliminator next Saturday (6th May) at Overthorpe Park for the right to progress to th enext stage and play the losers of the Oulton v Wigan St.Pats Minor Final.
