Dockers dumped out of cup

3/11/2007

North West Counties Champions Simms Cross, dumped the Hull Dockers out of the GMB National Cup on Saturday, with a 26-18 victory showing that not all the best rugby is guaranteed in the NCL. This earns them a trip to Leigh Miners Rangers in a fortnights time. All other GMB Cup games were postponed due to the weather.

In the Carnegie Challenge Cup Oulton Raiders put up a tremendous fight in Cumbria going down 18-10 to Workington, whilst East Hull were overcome 26-10 by Oldham. All other NCL teams suffered at the hands of their professional counterparts with some of the top NCL teams suffering heavy defeats - even NCL league leaders Leigh Miners conceded 46 points to the Sheffeld Eagles.

There was only one game in the NCL itself, with Skirlaugh defeating Shaw Cross Sharks 38-10 to close in on West Hull and the Miners at the top of the Premier Division.
