Challenge Cup Upsets

There were no games in the National Conference League this weekend because of the Carnegie Cup competition, but a couple of NCL clubs came unstuck . . .

NCL Premier League outfit Thornhill Trojans were beaten 20-26 by a very well organized Leeds Metropolitan Carnegie University.

The armed forces had a good weekend, with The Army beating Thatto Heath Crusaders 34-12 at Aldershot, and The Royal Navy visiting Castleford and beating Lock Lane 18-32.

Whilst Leigh Miners avenged their National Cup Quarter-Final defeat to Halton Simms Cross last season beating them 24-18 to proceed to Round 2
