Carnegie Cup takes centre-stage again

For a second weekend in a row the Carnegie Challenge Cup has disrupted the National Conference League fixture schedule, with the Eastmoor Dragons beating Premier Division rivals Hull Dockers to book a place in round 3, and a trip to the Celtic Crusaders.

In the other postponed Challenge Cup tie from last week West Bowling overcame Seaton Rangers of Cumbria to book a hope tie in round 3 with the London Skolars next weekend.

There was only one Premier league game played in the NCL with Wigan St. Patricks running up 10 tries in a 56-24 victory over Siddal. Loose Forward Mel Alker scoring a hat-rick in the first 10 minutes !

Elsewhere Rochdale Mayfield stayed on track for promotion from Division One with a 24-16 away victory at Eccles and Salford. Castleford Panthers had their second -place lead cut to one point over St.Judes as the Wigan side beat them 36-6.
